Making Sense of Art: Sharing Ideas about Art in Society workshop, 12 December

Tate Gallery, Albert Dock, Liverpool, 12 December, 11 – 4pm. Free event

Making Sense of Art: Sharing Ideas about Art in Society is a community learning partnership between Tate Liverpool and the City of Liverpool College that aims:

  • To transform community based learning by embedding the principles of co-design and co-creation into learning frameworks.
  • To use art as a tool for personal skills development; knowledge production; community dialogue; health and wellbeing; and to build resilient and sustainable communities.
  • To introduce and encourage adult learners, to participate in creating relevant arts programmes in local communities and to take part in the wider cultural offer across Liverpool city region.

For Autumn 2017, adult learners living in close proximinity to The Florence Institute, South Liverpool, are taught a curriculum that explores socially engaged practice through a broad range of interactive learning experiences and participatory activities, led by Nina Edge.
