Indian Music Ensemble TARANG premiere new album

Capstone Theatre, Shaw Street, Liverpool, L6, 21 July

Indian music ensemble Tarang will launch their new album in Liverpool this July, with a live performance at Capstone Theatre.

On 21st July, Tarang return to the Capstone stage with an exciting concert showcasing their brilliant new album ‘Undone’, opening this year’s Indika festival.

After a self-imposed hiatus, Tarang returns to the stage with a ground-breaking new sound, paving the way forward for experimentation and innovation with Indian classical music. Taking inspiration from music across the globe, Tarang’s new sound is emotionally rich and musically complex culminating in a sophisticated amalgamation of a wide spectrum of genres including jazz fusion, western classical, RnB and folk. Tarang’s music is soulful, stylish and innovative, featuring an array of instruments, ideas and influences.

Tarang was established by Indian Arts Development Trust, Milapfest, and remains the only ensemble of its kind in Europe. Their combination of North and South Indian music traditions with Western instruments and elements of performance, creates a concert experience rarely seen elsewhere.

Tarang are at the forefront of experimentation in Indian music and this year continue ripping up the rulebook, producing something truly astonishing, ground-breaking and soul-stirring. Featuring a line-up of top percussionists, singers and instrumental players, this is Indian music unlike you have ever heard.
