‘Mad Pride’, Threshold Festival Sunday

Mad Pride, Threshold Festival, Baltic Triangle, Liverpool, 3 April

Taking place on the Sunday of this year’s Threshold Festival, ‘Mad Pride’ is set to be a celebration of creativity and craziness with live music, DJs, art and activities.

Threshold Festival and Liverpool Mental Health Consortium have joined forces to host the first Mad Pride in Liverpool. The free day-long event, taking place on Sunday 3rd April, will feature creative activities for all ages, live music from some of the best local artists and even a mad parade!

The fun starts at 24 Kitchen Street from 3pm, where anyone of any age can join in craft activities and take part in creating the Mad Pride live art exhibition. A mix of Liverpool’s finest DJs will be playing throughout the day and refreshments will be available.

The Mad Pride parade will commence at 7pm through the streets of Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle with Bring the Fire Project showcasing their mesmerising circus performers and fire dancers. From 8pm the night celebration will kick off with entertainment and live music from the festival’s diverse selection of emerging artists and local bands.

Threshold Festival, founded by Chris Herstad Carney and Kaya Herstad Carney, has been displaying a wealth of musicians, artists and promoters in the heart of the Baltic District for the last five years. The festival has grown from a small and local event to one of the city’s biggest celebrations of alternative and authentic live music. This year, the festival aims to draw more attention to the thriving arts programme, with events such as Mad Pride leading the way to the festival’s most creative and artistic corners.
