Free Arts & Crafts Taster Weekend

You’re Invited! So come along…

The weekend of arts and crafts tasters is an exciting part of the Up For Arts project; a collaborative venture between Voluntary Arts England and BBC Radio Merseyside which celebrates arts and creativity across the whole of Liverpool.

Pop down to BBC Radio Merseyside and try your hand at all the activities on offer.  To whet your appetite, these are the treats we have in store:

Saturday 30th January

Have a go on a woodturning lathe!  We will have a master craftsman in our midst, so pick his brains and have a go.

Ceramicist Jenny Hunter will be on hand to demonstrate hand building and texture making.  You never know, you might be a natural.

Delve into the world of paper origami jewellery making, you’ll be shown how to make beautiful, stylish jewellery using simple techniques.

Merseyside Guild of Weavers will give you their tips of the trade!  Learn a range of weaving and felting techniques.

Sunday 31st January

Get your hands inky with Liverpool printmakers

Start that winter blanket you’ve been dreaming of or make a pretty corsage with Liverpool crochet group, Purlesque.

Enjoy a casual scribble with ‘Draw the line’, a growing social creative Liverpool group who welcome you to doodle!  A lovely small group who put on social events for all, come and join their square pen round hole project.

A second chance to get turning that wood and take your turn on the lathe.

Drop in…you won’t want to leave!

On both days, there will be an information point offering more details on arts and crafts groups, classes and events running across the whole of Merseyside.
